Hello Mr Drepaul,
It was so nice to receive this very special mail from you. A happy and productive NewYear to you, Mrs Ingrid and little Annabelle. I also send greetings to you all on behalf of my husband and four children. I am residing on the East Coast of Demerara in a village named Ogle, the road which takes you to the airstrip. Ogle is a very nice place which will be nice for you to visit when you come to Guyana. My birthday is 6th April. I work at the Coal Pot Restaurant as a waitress. I enjoy chatting with friends on the internet, Could I add you to my friends list on my messenger? When I visit your website and show my children the Photos from the Mash, they want to be on your band for next year. I would like very much to meet you when you come back here. I will go to Full Range to get some of your CDs. Thank you for telling me where I can get them to buy. Okay now bye until. Michelle

Subject: Xmas video

I saw a rather interesting Xmas video on local Guyana TV. Didn't recognize any of the supporting cast, but the star seemed familiar.

He was wearing a clown's hat and alternated between winding and gorging himself on just about anything presented as food. (Some appetite, that guy.)

Taking into account the scores of 'followers' whom he persuaded to join him in singing and dancing, a viewer's first impression might be: "This is the Pied Piper", except that the individual was playing guitar/bass instead of flute, and the country was Guyana, not Hamelin.

The protagonist had no respect for camera, man, woman or child, for he engaged in the most lewd pelvic gyrations imaginable while exhorting listeners to have "...a merry Guyanese Christmas."

In spite of the above, it is rumored that the performance has already been nominated for an academy award.

I hardly think that you would associate with persons who indulge in such behavior, but just by chance, do you know the individual?

Hi John,
Good to hear from you and happier to hear of your "award"....Your hard work is bringing you dividends...keep up the good work.....the sky is the limit bro....

It's freezing time again up in the "artic" and we are bundling up in our sweaters, coats, hats… etc.
We have about 3 to 4 inches of snow on the ground but it is raining and warming up...thus the "white stuff" is on its way out.....much to my liking. Can't seem to get accustomed to this... "I'm dreaming of a WHITE Christmas."... "dashing through the snow". I remember singing these songs in Skeldon… lo and behold I'm here in the midst of the white stuff. Now I am very careful about the songs I sing/play... (ha!!!)

Are you coming up for a vacation or worky.. worky.. worky??? Yes we'll plan a little "gaff" session... and also a jam session...."Lonely Bull Band"..... Clive Holder would be delighted to see you... You are quite welcome to stay at our home (tent, jamrah, cabin) whatever..... Not very luxurious but comfortable.
I have a copy of the Hank Marvin DVD... a live recording in Birmingham... I love it... for you.
Where should I send it to????
So much for now.
Stay connected

Well hello there John... A great big “congratulations” on your Mayors Award of Excellence... You should be proud... I was listening to some samples of your music tonight after I read the good news and came to the conclusion that for the amount the samples play, it is just a big tease...LOL...
I don’t know if I told you or not but I have moved out of the small town we were living in and am back in the big city again...We now live in Calgary but still in Alberta, home of the great Calgary Stampede....All is well and I hope it is the same for you...It seems that it is...Hope to hear from you soon again...Have a great Christmas if I do not here from you before hand and take good care...God Bless

Hugs
Betty (aka:tumbleweed)

Hello John,
Thanks for sharing. Congrats for a great idea and project hope it’s a 'howling' success.
Hey, we are looking forward to meeting yourself and Ingrid in Feb. next.
Once again it’s Christmas and the Silly Season. And at this time we always take stock of the past 12 months and give ourselves a review. And of all the things that have happened, one thing stands out. And that is how fortunate I am to have so many folks (make that friends) around the world that come into my monitor in my family room, on a regular weekly visit.
It has created its own society, its own culture, and has provided me with another dimension to life which gives it so much more colour and fun. The sharing that goes around is a joy to be part of.
So to everyone here, have a safe and joyous festive season and I look forward to continuing this incredible path we are all on in 2005.
Bye for now
Tony.

Well people de fus headache dun!.
It was a successful launch for "Pirates" but it will be complete with a section of the band full of WGML revelers.
Who coming!!!
De Pirates tune by Slingshot is good nice bad.
But I like Dr. Slingshot, better rhythm like mad! De man neva seem to amaze me.
De press liked the presentation and I if I may say so myself, De Topgun looked good in e' Pirates get up.
I felt like a swash buckling Pirate.
Yes Nadz! I had the guts to look in the mirror and I did not get a hearth attack.
Ah press meh face fus!
The tune got rhythm like so, it looks like I gun slip a disc, when de wining start Mash Day.
Slingshot is in high spirits.
I did not get pictures Wayne for I was next to Slingshot giving moral support, at the Head Table
I will get some from Mondale Smith. I only took some of the Pirate Dancersof course.
De big joke is dat de press took every thing except the kitchen sink.
Slingshot was signing autographs like mad
Harold ..shiver me timbers!

comments: Hello Slingshot
Yes, I am dancing and re-learning how to jive to the superior quality and over-powerful lyrics of your music.
Took delivery of my three Music CDs today, Monday morning, and placed them on to the CD player. Dancing over took and the desire to speak. Well, I would have been the first person to put my hand up to say I cannot dance and jive. Well something occurred on this floor.
Slingshot, the lyrics and music are powerful! Keep composing and producing the music!
At times I have to travel away from home, to regionally cities within United Kingdom and internationally building my business. Now, that journey will never be long! The power of the lyrics and music will keep me within the mother land of Guyana on those days.
Keep on writing these superior lyrics and music!
Will be most pleased to speak with you, when you return to London! It is hoped that your time schedule allows for that.
My home is in Stoke Newington, London, telephone: […] - leave a message on the message system.
Many thanks again and success in all ventures!

Best regards
Joyclyn

John and Ingrid............

Boundless thanks and appreciation for you and Ingrid lavishing me with hospitality ...
Pity I couldn't stay a couple days longer to really soak up the Orlando magic and lime with you two … without the pressure of performance...
The evening was surprisingly very successful ... You must have been surprised too. […]
I think everybody enjoyed themselves, they certainly got $40 worth for only $20 ... four musicians, a comedian and food … must do it again...
Although ideally, I would like to come down there and do a full concert - solo with one or two "local" artistes to round it off... Would you be interested in being one of them if it ever happens? I would do about 75 minutes of more stories than comedy and the two locals do 12 minutes each ... with a 15 min. interval we have a two hour show...
I have to start egging the posse about it... at this stage it's only a wish and an idea...
Meanwhile, allyuh walk good yuh hear man.
